Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I truly enjoyed Black Milk, Dam Funk and Currensy last year, but I am shocked over how big a hype there was around the OFWGKTA concert. It seemed that much of the audience attending the concert assumes that something is hip hop only because the music is characterised by rapping and dj'ing. I attended the concert my self and believe that it is great to book these types of artists like Tyler the Creator and Kidd for that matter and the social context their art illustrates. BUT it is of much more importance that RF books social conscious artists, where The Roots, Mos Def and Common would be the most relevant artists to take a look at. I would be dissapointed if at least not one of these plays at RF.
It is great that Hip Hop evolves and renews, but it should not lose its values as they were formulated in the beginning with Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation.

And Big Boi ofcourse! Btw. I would enjoy to see some kind of Guru tribute, including some of the related artists.

Would love to see Kendrick Lamar get added to the bill! His album Section 80 is fantastic! Maybe even the best rap album of 2011.

Terrible booking. They bring boring gansta/weed rappers instead of actually good ones.

Wheres:

Big KRIT
Cunninlynguists
Shebazz palaces
Death Grips
Or kendrick lamar

All released absolutely brilliant albums last year. Something none of these 3 can boast. All wiz khalifa did was to write 1 decent song with shite lyrics.

Heck even currensy would be way cooler than those.

Regarding Currens$ I must say that from my point of view he delivered the worst concert in 2011 undedicated and every single one of the songs he performed was chopped up and ended with acapella freestyle. Which really ruined the concert.

As for this year line-up, I guess it is ok there is something for (almost) everybody my worst concern is that Wiz khalifa is supposed to the BIG hip hop name this year. My good I would give my right arm to see somebody like Dr Dre (If only his new album would ever be released) or Nas that would be crazy and a truly magnificent signing.

Agree! Yelawolf is the king icon_wink.gif
I'm tired of people that compares new rap to the great rap legends from the 80's and 90's!
Just understand that this is the new wave of rap, and if you aren't satisfied, then listen to your 2pac and old Snoop Dogg records. It would just be boring, if all rap had to be like it used to be. Sometimes things has to be renewed.

I really can't hear that Yelawolf is trying anything new. Fair enough if you like it, but there's no "renewal" here.
