Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

This will be my first time in Roskilde, and I'm don't have any company coming with me. I'm really excited about Roskilde, it'll be the first time for me to see Mew live. I've been waiting this for five years, and there's now way I'm going to miss a gig of Mew this time!
So is there anyone from Finland, Sweden etc going this year? I would love to have company, though I know I get to know my "neighbors" there! Still it would be nice if I knew someone in advance icon_smile.gif

hi hulda huoleton...!

http://www.elmu.fi/cms/?q=node/51

that's what I'm using... because it's so easy way to make the roskilde trip. you just need to jump in the bus and... relax...! you don't have to take care of anything else. very easy. and elmu has own camp also in the festival area..

Olisi loistavaa, but I can't afford that. I'll fly to Copenhagen, take a train from Kastrup to Roskilde.. But where should I go? To Roskilde station maybe, and where from there should I go?

It would be so easy to pay for that and go easily, but no money, no funny. icon_frown.gif

The Elmu trip is not that expensive compared to going on your own. Sure it´s 448 euros, but you´ll get the festival ticket and tranportation with that. On your own you´ll have to pay 100 euros for flights and 250 euros for the ticket, plus the trains from Kastrup to Roskilde and back (I don´t know how much this is.. Anybody?).

I´ve been to the festival with Elmu couple of last years, and it´s been lots of fun. This year however I´m going to fly, since I wanna miss as little of the festival as i can (Elmu trip arrives on Tuesday, and every day counts icon_wink.gif). Maybe next year again, who knows.

And about coming to the festival, it´s quite simple. You take the train from Kastrup and when you´ll arrive in Roskilde you just change tracks and take the festival train to the camping site (5 min./20 kr) and there you are. I think this works only if you´re coming on Sunday or later, otherwise you´ll have to take a bus or walk (3-4 km) from Roskilde centrum to one of the entrances. Lots of people going that way so you can´t miss it. Just make sure you´re going to the right one.

I checked the pruce, it's about 4 euros one way. Not so much. And I'll pay 68 euros for the flights. But I'll think about this Elmu trip! And actually I missed that the festival ticket is included to the price! It'd be so easy to come that way, especially when this is the first time for me!

Depends on whether you buy a ticket each way or buy a 2 zone clip card.

It's DKK94.50 (EUR12.60) each way buying tickets.

If you buy a 2 zone clip card and clip it 5 times each way it's DKK130 (EUR17.33) total

So including the DKK20 each way for the festival bus/train it's EUR22.60 total if you go with the clip card option.

It's a fair bit more than EUR4 each way. See above.

Please note as Wallu notes that the Elmu trip arrives Tuesday so you're missing out on almost 3 days of warm-up. As a first timer I don't think you should cheat yourself of the whole experience the festival has to offer.

Oh okay, I then misunderstood this whole price thing from Kastrup to Roskilde.

I think I'll come by myself, taking the flights, and trains. I don't want to miss a single day of the festival!

Good choice! You´ll have a blast. Just remember to book an entrance if you´re coming on Saturday (and if you hook up with some camp, like the earlier danish/finnish one, it´s good to book the same entrance and meet before the gates open). Besides that only good pair of walking shoes and the right spirit are required. (Even the spirit is optional as it will grow on you for sure, there´s no place like Roskilde, you´ll see).

I think I manage to get the right spirit - I'm already so excited that even excited would say that I'm over the moon! Hahha, yeah, seeing Mew live will be just so unforgettable, and so will be the whole festival!

one year we came by our own car, and it actually cost more than elmu's bus trip.. all the gas+ boat trips....

But the small group of finns on happy tree camp are great festival company also... I happen to know them!
