Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Hi everyone.

I'm from Mexico, I live in a city which it's a border with the U.S, Arizona to be exactly.

I would like to find people who has already go to the fest, as the topic says, from Mexico, Canada or U.S. I would like to go but I'm not so sure about how much money do I need (I've been saving a few but I want to be sure), and about the trip, flights, camping spots or hotels nearby or where you spent the days during the festival, etc etc.

I've already go to Coachella in California this year, so I have an idea how it can be.

That pretty much is, I'll appreciate all answers and if you want to add more tips or anything else will be great!

Thanks!

You do know that there's a whole year untill we kick off agian right?

Im not foreign, but we had a guy from austraila living in our camp this in 2010, 2011 too..

And as far as i know, he only took some clothes and shooes and a creditcard.. Most shops within the festival accepts VISA & Mastercard.

About the flight, its most likely you should be able to book a planeticket to Copenhagen Airport, from there you can use public transportation such as trains or busses to get to Roskilde station.. - From Roskilde station you can either walk (About 20 minutes) or take another bus to the festival site.

During the festival you sleep on the camping site which is included in the full 8 day ticket. You just need to bring your own tent and a sleeping bag would be a brilliant idea too.

The money part is tricky. a lot of people uses loads of money during the festival, and there is thoose who aint.. I use aprox during the whole festival, including buying festival gear such as tents, chairs etc. aprox $800 USD

Hope it helped just a little -.-

I am from Los Angeles and 've been 4 times now from the and aside from your flight, which is the most expensive thing, you can spend only 100DKR a day if you wish.

First of all bring some hard alcohol with you. I bring at least 4 liters of Vodka from the States with me and that costs me only 20 bucks. It will get you drunk in less time than beer and takes up less room. You can buy ice either at the festival or in town, as well as something to chance your Vodka with like Lemonade or Ginger Ale.

You can get a sandwich a day and juice like I did and that costs you roughly 65 DKR, then the rest of the money for me was for the bus into town or a hot shower. The cold co ed showers are fine, especially if it is really hot, plus you get to see Hot Scandinavians and your friends butt naked for free!

You can also collect the refund fees for the bottles and cans which tends to be 1DKR per bottle of can or more. At a concert you can easily make enough to buy a hamburger or more within 5 minutes. Espeically at the smaller stages that have a less crowded refund station nearby.

Also people are incredibly friendly at Roskilde and will buy or give you drinks. Maybe you can bring somethings pecial from your country to give away and that is usually enough to get free stuff.

So it realy is not that expensive. Fell free to drop by the Strangers with Candy Camp next summer. We have a free BBQ the 1st Wednesday of every festival. Take care!
