Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Just wondering what you think about it in comparison to Roskilde? Als for the Danes: Was it tricky to plan from Denmark to Glastonbury.Do you have any good advice or stories to tell? I'm thinking of going in 2012.

Never had the patience to get tickets. They are a royal pain in the ass to get, and it just doesn't look like it's worth the effort. I'd definitely go one year if I had a friend that got his/her hands on a few tickets though. The fact that I've moved to Denmark (from England) also lowers the chances from a logistic/pragmatic perspective....

As Emilius said, the tickets are a pain to get hold of. I think the booking system has got better than it used to be though. You have to register to get one months before the festival, then they have a second batch etc etc.

Anyway, I'm guessing it would be similar for you as for people like me living in the UK travelling to Roskilde. You'd just get a direct flight from Copenhagen to London Stansted, then the train to Glastonbury. I've never been to Glastonbury, as sometimes the lineup is a bit 'poppy' for my liking, and also it has about twice the number of visitors as Roskilde. People I know who have been say it's good though. More peaceful than Reading.

There's quite a bit of Glastonbury/Roskilde advice/discussion... here... A lot of it relates to your questions (but be sure to read all of it, because I, for one, totally messed up my recollection of the logistics on first try). Anyway, won't repeat it here. icon_smile.gif (This topic is probably better for continued discussion, though - the title of that other one made it quite hard to dig up again icon_wink.gif)

Thanks for the help. I'm trying to figure it all out. Exactly how hard are the tickets to get hold of?

Glasto sadly takes a year of next year because of the olympic games in London!

Besides that, I'm also curious on Glasto-tips, I HAVE to go there once!icon_smile.gif

Glastonbury is really good. But the hard thing is like many here already had said to get the tickets. I was there for my first time this year and will definitly try to get a ticket even for Glastonbury 2013. But I would never skip Roskilde for Glastonbury.

I visited ten festivals in nine different countries this summer and Both Roskilde and Glastonbury are really highclass festival and two of the best. An other really good festival who also is a festival I have to visit every years is Sziget festival in Budapest who I really can recomand to you instead of Glastonbury next year when it´s not any Glastonbury. Sziget is also cheaper, have also big line-up´s and it´s almost always good weather. icon_smile.gif

Go to download instead, its another large British festival. And the tickets are easier to get a hold of ~
I have never been to Glastonbury. But I do live in England - Between our poor weather and the fact we lack the ability or organise anything which is on a large scale (Take the 2012 Olympics for an example, we screwed up the ticket sales BIG Time on that banghead.gif ) you should go to one of our many alternate festivals. Going to the largest would just be to much hassle.

Hell, I'm going to Roskilde instead of Glastonbury next year because its easier to organise. XD
