  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Hi, new to this forum but not to Roskilde. Been visiting on and off since -86.

There have been lot´s of moments experienced at Roskilde. The best music experience i must say (although i usually prefer hard-rock) was Kraftwerk 98 in the Green tent. Sound was absolutely perfect and the visual was a perfect match to the songs!

Another moment besides the music was when our campside neibours fed us with Dutch beer almost the whole festival, since they didn´t like that we have a a Heineken-flag (they preferred another Dutch brand). Nice guy´s trying to convince us to drink "real beer". Although we drank only Danish beer they whoudn´t listen, they kept coming with beer, and we kept bringing the surplus back to them.

I guess my best moment was in '07 where our camp was sittin under the "pavillion" during a tiny break from the rain.. There was life in the streets again and a semi-old fellow jumped into our camp and sat down with his guitar and played.. He then found our jam-jar and rubbed all of it on his chest.. His wife (i suppose) then came and they sat and made out - kinda illegal for kids watch almost icon_biggrin.gif - when suddenly a rather creepy dude came running and screaming "**** you!!" to every1 and had both fingers at us saying we were ugly.. As if it wasnt weird enough 5 dudes came with their boombox and sat down whilst playing Kim Larsen - Jutlandia and passing around a few cheers.. Hehe.. Probably the most crazy 10 mins of my life.. icon_lol.gif

My best experience, was Datarock in 2007.

here is my story:

I work as a photographer in Norway, shooting skateboard and snowboard. and a company from Norway that produces snowboard outerwear, also makes the famous red jumpsuits that has become Datarocks trademark. The company is called Whiteout.
I have sold them some photos throughout the years, and when I found out Datarock was playing at Roskilde, I asked if they could hook me up with a suit.
It came to the post office 9 o'clock at nigth, the day before our departure.

fast forward to the last day of the festival in 2008.
Me and my friends were in front of the waterway, but not in the crowd pit. We had come to the end of a rough week, with the weather and all. But i thought to myself, "fuck this... it's the last concert, I have to go all the way!"

So i took of my t-shirt, and put on the jacket. Leaving me in the same style as the band themselves. Big shades, halfway open zipper with nothing underneath. Just not as much hair on my chest as theirs.
I started to run into the crowd, and was working my way to the front. And to my surprise, the crowd was not tight, they were actually all opening up a small gateway everywhere I went.
It struck my mind that "maybe they all think I'm in the band?".
(at this point, the suits were hard to get, and I think I might have been the only one at Roskilde that had one)
I ran up to the railing in front of the stage, and the band members stood on the edge of the stage pointing at me, I pointed back, and the fans around me gasped!

Suddenly it was chaos. The band members started running around the waterways, and one of them ended up crowdsurfing. I looked around at my new fans, and pointed to the sky! They all lifted me up and I was on my way! In the chaos I remembered that I had tied my camera to my pants-lining, and fished it up and started filming the experience!

Then I saw the guards all pissed and pointing at me, and the crowd started sending me towards the stage!
I was in fear of my wristband, as crowdsurfing is stricktly forbidden! So I tried to crawl up into a ball to get down. (-seeing that this had worked a few months earlier when crowdsurfing at Coachella when Rage played)
But no luck! The crowd sent me across the fence, and I started running! Thinking only of my precious wristband! After 10 meters two guards stopped me and I thought the show was over. Untill one of them screamed in my ear, "do ska' DEN vejen" (you're going THAT WAY) and pointed at the stage!
Even the GUARDS thought I was in the band!

So I was given a boost up on the stage. and there I was...
I could not believe it! I was walking around for about a minute taking pictures and filming...
Before Tarjei (the drummer) saw me and said "Kem faen e du??" (who the hell are you??), I was confused and pulled my shoulders, and could not say a word, before he ran up to me and gave me a big hug!
"We saw you down there and hoped you would make it up here" he said!
So there I was, in the band, on the final song, taking a bow with the rest of the gang.
Taking a picture of myself and Ketil, and some of the others.

It was over and they were going of stage, I followed, but my escapades had caught up with me.
Some officials grabbed my arm, and checked me for the correct wristbands for the backstage.
No luck. The band asked if I could please come with them, but there was no way...
So I thought "ok... it's over, and my wristband goes with it"....
But the official took me down to a side entrance, gave me a pat on the back and said in his best "danglish", Hæv a nejs festivæl"...

I ran out to my friends, and was run over by fans wanting autographs. I signed them all with things like "woho" and "come back next year" etc...

I emailed my story to whiteout, and they forwarded it to Datarock's management...
And a few weeks later I got an email from the band.
They thanked me!
After they had come backstage, the management from the festival had a very serious talk with them.
They were not welcome back, and their fee would not be payed because of their violation of the rules (crowdsurfing)... They pointed the finger at me, and after alot of talk, they got of the hook!
So they sent me several new suits (I had the old model) and told me if I ever went to a concert with them again, I should let my presence be known, and we would have a laugh backstage.
I have not done that to this day, but I will do it sometime.
And I'm sure they will never forget the happening either!

here are some photos and a little video from the event.
Sorry about the long text, but it's a story I love to share! icon_biggrin.gif

Certainly beats being bitched at by Bruce Dickinson.

Getting bitched at by Bruce isn't bad either! Loved that story!

@Martin Pedersen
Sorry, only have it on facebook. Maybe your flashplayer is not up to date?
What kind of error message do you get?

@CharlieSabotage
Hope I didn't kick you in the face! Haha!
A friend of mine had that happen to him and told me the story, we later found out I was the one who kicked him! icon_razz.gif

@elGrand
From what I heard, it was all good after they pointed the finger at me. Let's just hope the wrong people don't read this!

And thanks for the nice feedback everyone! Thought no one would even read the long story! Haha

Iv been to Roskilde 04 and 07. So it's been rainy. But how cares icon_biggrin.gif.
I have so many good memories form the 2 years and it's hard to find only one.
But I think it was in 04.
I was living all the way out on P camp. And walked down and over the bridge to west. In the middle of the street 2 guys was sitting with a cd player listening to Metallica. I joined them, and we had some beers.
But then, in the middle of the Metallica songs Angle with Robbie Williams came on.
And out of nowhere 20-30 people came and sang. When the song was over it was back to Metallica and just us 3 (Later joined by 3 sweds).
But every time Angle came on, people came back from there hiding.

Also funny in 07 that the people making the mud trap in west camp (close to the skate ramp) got there camp flooded. It's just KARMA!!

Have been on RF since 04 and every year after. So many great memories from the best (only?) week of the year.
I would like to share one from RF04, my first year.
My best friend and I was sitting at one of the camp fires and the sun was rising, everyone was passing beers around and a few late punters where trying to hook up with girls.
A couple of guys where throwing around sand just behind me, I instantly knew this could mean trouble as they where pissed. And so it happened they hit a random by passer in the face ( obviously not purposely) and the guy who had his face full of sand went on to start a fight. A few punches where thrown and before both their groups of friends stopped the fight and talked their mates down. Their great response stopped the fight from escalating and the essence of the Orange Feeling is what happened next.
The two guys who had been in a fight less than 2 minutes ago shacked hands and one supporting the other they went on to the first aid center together to get cleaned up.

One of the most remarkable things about RF is how everyone changes their frame of mind as soon as they get that wristband. It links people together and it promotes the common understanding that if YOU are making a strangers festival experience better, more memorable, that means that your experience will become ever so better, more memorable..
