Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I've noticed the lank of punks at the festival. I didn't mind them at all, but at the same time not sorry to see them go either.

Definitely a shift in focus away from rock music. For good and for bad.

That wording almost makes it sound like punks = the gypsies of the 90's[*]... Frankly, I'm sorry to see any group of people go that made the festival a more diverse place. Whether it's subcultures or international guests. Both rather rare at Roskilde now - although the reasons for that aren't that hard to figure out.

"Shift in focus" would imply that there still is a focus...

[*] Yeah, there were Romanis at the festival then too. Most people just hadn't decided to hate on them yet.

Been to Roskilde 11 times. Not a lot compared to many of the regulars in here, but I feel it's a respectable number. Almost enough to consider myself a veteran?
Not very fond of the way the audience has changed the later years, but hopefully they'll be booking bands for a wider audience once again soon. Looks like audience's drug profile has changed to the worse with the music profile and the big techno party camps, from the green to more chemical partypills and shit.
Enough complaining... Anyways..Wasn't supposed to be going this year, but suddenly I won a couple of tickets, so now it looks like it will be Roskilde number 12 for me! I'll hopefully be a happy camper again in about a month's time. icon_smile.gif

This year will be my 22 time at Roskilde, every year since 1991. Things have changed alot in the camping area. We used to arrive at roskilde a couple of days before the festival opened and there was usually almost nobody there, in fact one year getting there 5 days before (maybe 6) we were one of the first. We got to drive our car to were we wanted our camp icon_smile.gif Well, I spent my 20th festival staying at a hotel, and yes, I think thats the way to go for me! Hey, mo bones are aking!
Hopefully I will go to Roskilde for many years more, and I still think "what will I do when I can't go no more?"

Just walking towards the festival for the first time every year and I see the top of the Orange stage makes me feel great, I'm home!, and to see the duck on the top of the orange stage makes me sure that some people come back.

But seeing how people are leaving the area with all the trash and fires, makes me sad though.

RECYCLE!!!!

See you in 2012!!!

AND 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018.......

I started in 1992 (I will never forget the dustcloud above the camping area icon_biggrin.gif) and I only missed 2002 and the last year.

My first time was in 2001 but I went because my father worked at the festival and Aqua was playing their last concert so only for one day. But i've been at the festival 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and i'm going this year as well so it's gonna be my fifth real festival but sixth if you count 2001 as well icon_smile.gif

This year will be my 19th.
Started going in 1993, missed 2001 due to a great opportunity to work abroad for 3 months.
At least I went to see Ozzfest in Charlotte, NC that summer.

I feel my age when I arrive back home, but before and during the most parts of the festival you're a youngster again.

I started out in 2002, where I had purchased a dual festival ticket for both Midtfyns Festival and Roskilde Festival for 1.250 DKK. Those were the days, price-wise icon_wink.gif

I went again in 2003 as a paying guest, and in 2004, I grabbed an opening at the 28 man crew that constructs the Arena stage. Every year since then, I've been constructing Arena, and in 2010 I took over the job as team leader of the Arena construction crew icon_smile.gif

Thus, this year it is my 11th Roskilde Festival icon_smile.gif
