Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

There are allways aussies comming. And they are easy to spot. They tend to praise your flag - alot, on poles, on tents, as clothing (underwear seems to be a favorit) ect. ect..

You will only meet friends everywhere you go, by the way, so don't worry.

Some kiwis are bound to be there surely.

However, as the festival nears the Meeting Point forum on here is usually awash with posts by people who need people to camp with.

So no worries. You might be going alone but you're not alone.

In my first year (this year will be my 3rd icon_biggrin.gif) and being English we were pooing ourselves that we'd be unable to find other English speakers. But me and my friends camped in a random spot and ended up being next to around 10 New Zealanders and a group of 4 Aussies so don't worry, you guys are everywhere!

Just wanted to say that you're pretty awesome for just going. Let us know if it works out or not, there'll always be someone here to pick you up.

Also, don't worry too much about language barriers and such - pretty much everyone at the festival speaks fluent english. You can basically walk in to any camp and just start speaking english to people. It's also a great conversation starter since people will want to know where you're from. icon_smile.gif
