Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I just had to make this one.

I remember all the commotion and talk before Roskilde '08, with past experiences from 2004 and 2007.

Will it rain this year? Or will it still be every third year?

2004 - Rain
2005 - Sunny
2006 - Sunny
2007 - Rain
2008 - Sunny
2009 - Sunny?
2010 -

With the last few weeks of sunny weather, with tempratures equal to high summer, are you feeling a bit scared over the weather?

Are You taking the necessary procautions with the raingear and rubberboots?
I live by the motto "There's no such thing as bad weather - Just bad choice of clothing"

Last year I decided not to buy any rubberboots and bring with me, but I brought along with me some emergencymoney so I could buy a pair of "Official Roskilde rubberboots" incase of rain.
I feel that I will probably do the same this year, with the exception that I bring a rain poncho..

I wouldn't mind having some rain this festival, when it rained on the saturday of last years festival, I was actually relieved.. It took away all the urinedust and it brought with it some sort of eurforic sensation amongst the people where we had our camp.

Let the gossip and speculations begin.

We can expand the list a bit

I'll divide it up into the first 4 days and the last 4 days

2000 - cloudy/windy
2001 - cloudy/sunny
2002 - windy/cloudy
2003 - sunny/cloudy
2004 - rain/rain
2005 - sunny/sunny
2006 - cloudy/sunny
2007 - cloudy/rain
2008 - sunny/sunny
2009 - Sunny?
2010 -

My immidiate guess would be sunny the first 4 days and cloudy the last 4 days this year.

We have to get a lot closer to the festival to make any sort of predictions anyways but about a week before you can make educated guess based on wind patterns.

Nooo! Christ sake no foam!
It will make you smell like shit and cause rashes on your skin after the sun dries it up.

I said snowcannons :p

Would be pretty neat to have a couple of those aimed towards the audience.
Or place one or two inside of Astoria during one of the electroacts, the temprature in there must've been 40 celcius atleast :p

DMI tend to be much more accurate than accuweather though. I especially recall accuweather predicting rain all last year and sunny all 2007 ... icon_lol.gif

Yes I remember AccuWeather predicted good weather in 2007. But the problem with AccuWeather (or Denmark) is that the Danish weather is very unpredictable, and it can therefore be hard to predict the weather so many days (up to 15 days) in advance. And No-one had predicted the amazing rain-masses that came over Roskilde in '07.
I just HOPE that it will be good weather this year! Because it seems that bad festival-weather is following me and I have experienced the most rainful Roskilde ('07) and Skanderborg ('08 )...

PS. The last festival I attended actually had quite good weather, so I don't really attract bad weather icon_wink.gif

i have a gut feeling that says that there's a lot of stuff that will make you smell like shit and give you rashes at the festival icon_razz.gif so does it matter? - you could just wash it off icon_razz.gif

i would say that 2008 was windy/sunny, or at least in the east.
after a day or 2 in the warm-up, our pavilion couldn't stand uo against the wind anymore. a few times i even saw tents flying through the air!

It takes a lot more than '08 winds for me to classify it as windy. 2008 was mild breeze compared to especially the last days in 2000.

its now a little over 4 weeks til the festival starts, im guessing that in a couple of weeks the weather speculations will be many in this forum, and i kinda love that part because that allways means the festival is getting close icon_biggrin.gif
