Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I'm sure the map will be available eventually. I can't remember when the map was available last year, but I don't remember it being that early. I remember it being posted on the forum around the time that video was released about the gravel pit growing.

Without knowing anything, I would say that a leaked map could turn up in may - depending on demand and how eager people are. Last year I think there where somebody on here, that had an idea of how the map could eventually turn out, because they lived in the area, I think.

The final official map probably wont come out before mid-june or something like that, it seemed we waited forever for it last year.

Yeah, I remember somebody who lived near the site going on a tour and reporting back, does that person still post?

My guess is thats its Mr Monster, I could be way of though.

Anyway, (maybe) we allready have a pretty good idea about what to expect. The gravel pit has supposedly moved west, so its now next to the bridge over the railroad, and leaves a free area at the south/south-west side. Perhaps.

Edit: Ah, found it:

Yes, that's me (at least one of them). Haven't been there this year yet, but maybe it's about time.

I visited the camp site (only East) last week to see how things where with the gravel pit digging. Right now it doesn't look so bad, the pit is now between the farm house and the festival area, but it looks like they prepared for some more expansion in the near future.

this is what the current situation looks like (based on the map from last year)

The good story is that new area could be available

Thanks for the update, much appreciated!
It would be great if the "potential new area" indeed becomes new camp space.
We used to camp right in front of port 10 but last year we camped a little more south (G59) and it was a great spot as well. So if they can expand that area it will result in a lot of nice, centrally located camp spots.

How is the quality of the possible new area? By the looks of it, it holds a lot of water and the grass is not very thick/full/ Lots of small rocks as well?

The picture was a close as I got. The whole area was quite muddy and I was wearing my "business shoes" so I stayed on the road.

Anyway, the little lake there was what worried me, but maybe they didn't drain the area yet. Grass will never be the problem.

Isn't the soil where the gravel pit once was very bad when it comes to drainage? Won't it just glance off the rain to other lower areas of the camping area?

And btx, nice map Mr. Monster!

The first year or two until the earth settles, yes. If it looks like rain I'd not camp in one of those areas. But if it doesn't look like rain, it wouldn't matter.

actually in 2007 and they opened an area south of the gravel pit and even though it was placed very low they apperantly had less flooding problems that everybody else because of the draining of the area.

I thought that area was new to 2007! For an area that low-down to have survived Roskilde 2007 unflooded, the drainage must be very good. Will all of the new ex-gravel pit/new camping areas be that low down though? I guess they're not going to put the millions of truckloads of soil back.

I hope at least entrance 10 and the area in front of it will remain.
I wonder what will happen to the bridge once entrance 10 is gone. How will people from West enter the festival area?

I doubt they'll move the bridge, people will just have to go around the gravel pit. I guess like last year there will just be the road up ot the gates. And that's it.

I also think there will at least be a road leading from the bridge to the gates as usual, even if the camping area is dug up.

I went to the area again Friday and not most of the blue area is gone and a good part of the yellow area is prepared for digging.

Regarding the walk ways there's still a road along the fence (it has actually been improved with a lot of loose stone) so I think you'll be able to walk from the bridge to gate 10 and then along the fence to gate 9,7 etc.

I'm just curious, what about the small house on the right side of the G tower?
