Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Last year I was in west 1 entrance, and I think there was a couple of problems, that needs to be addressed at this years festival.

1. Way to many people. The last couple of hours we had to stand, because there were to many people in the queue area. That created a lot of tension, which contributed to the other problem:

2. The fence were knocked down. When the gates opened, the fence went down and a lot of people jumped the fence and the queue.

My suggestions for solutions:

1. You could sell fewer tickets to each area or make them bigger, but that's not my favorite solution. You could have staff trying to squeeze people tighter together from the early morning. Last year I know a lot of people got in to the queue area, who didn't have tickets for that area. I don't think it would be wise to write how to do it here, but most of you know. One way of dealing with the problem could be to make a mark on the ticket, when you enter the queue area, and give you a stamp on the hand like in many bars.

2. Use two fences - one large and one small like two years ago. And have some staff standing between the two fences.

The biggest problem is that people are idiots.. For some reason people at east one rushed forward two hours before the Gates opened, forcing people to stand up, and being overtaken because They (In this case us) weren't prepared for that surge.. And as long as people are idiots, i dont Think there's Not much to do about it.. Other than limiting the amount of people at each area as you said
