Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I don't think so. I can't see that they have the artists to sell out this year. Hopefully i'm wrong.

I think the fesival will be sold out this year.
From what I heard the only recent years, which weren't sold out were following one of the very wet years, but the weather last year was ok, so it will not keep anyone away.
It was sold out the last three years, and I think the lineup this year is better than last year, although someone not that knowledgable might look only at the headliners and no be that impressed, since Rihanna is probably the only artist who can sell tickets by herself, but the strong electronic lineup should keep the partyanimals happy.

One last good headliner would ensure a soldout festival.

Exactly. Getting sold out at Roskilde has absolutely nothing to do with the bands playing. The only times the festival hasn't sold out was due to very bad weather the year before (or the year after the 2000 disaster).

Which is a shame in my opinion.

I'd obviously want the people showing up to be interested in the music playing, but at the same time I feel RF can be very adventurous in their booking of artists because they know people will show up anyway. I like the festival to be adventurous icon_smile.gif

I don't think that's absolutely true. Of course the bands have something to do with ticketsales nowadays. Maybe it didn't a few years ago but now there's festivals popping up everywhere who fight for the festivalaudiences. The bands are important.

Therefore you see alot less swedes, norwegians and other nationalities at the festival nowadays. They can see the same bands nearby. And they haven't really gotten into the orange feeling which is sad for them. In Sweden there are like 4-5 big festivals around the same dates as Roskilde.

Me personally buys a Roskilde ticket before any bands i announced because i know that i would always find atleast 25+ bands i'd like to see. But i'm a veteran and i don't think we are enough this year. Last year i think Bruce was the reason for the sold out sign.

But as i wrote, no one would be happier than me if it's sold out this year and the years ahead. And this year we have some announcements left.

I like that too. But the quality is imperative nonetheless for me. There should be no problem being adventurous while booking what is what at that given year.
