  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I would'nt be too worried, although its hard to know when it will sell out, which I do think it will this year. But I dont think it would be a problem getting your ticket before, say june at least.

I think the last time there was a sudden rush in ticket sales was back in 2003. But the Festival usually sends out a newsletter a day before the the Festival sells out.

Do not worry!

The program is to little and weak compared to the competitors (at the moment), so don't sweat it.

Last I heard was that they have only sold a few thousand tickets

After Roskilde announces it's close to being sold out, you've got a maximum of 3 days to get your ticket if you live in Denmark. If you don't live in Denmark, you should have a little more time from what I understand.

With the financial crisis and Roskilde growing more expensive, it will be hard for them to sell out this year. I know the weather of the previous year has a huge influence on the ticket sales this year, but without the right headliners, and people worried sick if they can afford it, I have no clue how it will go this year.

That's a good guess. Normally the tickets sell out fast after a good year weatherwise. Remember that 2007 sold out already May 3rd. With the current econimic climate it'll probably be a little longer than usual for it to sell out but with the Danish forced pension fund being lifted from June 1st as part of the economic stimulus package in Denmark, you'd probably see it sell out extremely fast after that date.

Wasn't it June 3rd? I agree on the rest.

You're probably right. It was 1 day before I got my vacation funds paid out at least so I had to go scalping that year.

I don´t think they will sell out this year either.
Last year it wasn´t sold out probably of the rainstorm the year before. But this year will it not be sould out because of the financial crisis and that they not have special strong headliners.
Cold Play, Oasis and Slipknot are big name. But I think that Roskilde would have need a headline like AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen or Metallica to sell out all the tickets this year.

Again this year I'm going to work at the Festival, building the Arena stage. I expect the lineup to end up being MASSIVE, thus selling out the Festival should be no problem icon_smile.gif

I think I'll agree with Bajorn on this. Yes, there is an economic crises - but the overwhelmingly good weather last year plus what seems like it will be a good line-up this year* could help it to sell out.

* It seems like they are doing a really good job this year with getting some borderline mainstream crowd-pleasers and some major alternative acts, like NIN, pleasing a lot of the hard-core music lovers. If they can keep that up and hopefully pull some bunnies out of their hat, this could turn into a GREAT Roskilde year, music wise.

Some more stuff to think about

On the plus side:

- A lot of UK festivals have sold out already (including Glastonbury)
- Euro-countries have a stronger economy compared to the non-Euro-countries and the mix of different nationalities will probably get more apparent this year
- The festival already HAS headliners that appeal to the masses, headliners that sell out/have sold out arenas and venues (taste is not the issue here, just cash).
- All the headliners+subliners have not been announced! It can ONLY get better!
- GOOD weather last year give people a positive memory for along time and many will return automatically.

The minus side:

- Swedes/Scandinavians have a problem with the cash this year
- Ticket prices
- 2007-scenarios (weather)
- Denmark will get invaded by swedes by july and contaminated with all kinds of STDs

Why do so many Dannish people hate Swedish people? I mean it is like someone from one State in the US getting mad at another person from another State. You are all Scandinavians and Vikings at heart!? You share a common history and a love for raping and pilaging villages and livestock.

hahaha, we share a common history? I have a mayor i history and one thing I can tlell you about scandinavianism (the nationalistic agenda before the separate countries of Scandinavia got their own so called nationalism) is that we have a history of not agreing with each others notion of "common history".

One thing we have in common though, suicide rates, excessive coffedrinking, jantelagen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jante_Law)

......and also some very hot chicks

I don't think you could call it hatred, friendly rivalry these days at the most. Remember Denmark and Sweden has fought more wars over Scandinavian supremecy than England and France have over European supremacy. And the rivalry goes back much further than the England/France feud since neither France nor England became real power centers until after they had been invaded by vikings.

I speak fluent swedish, btw, and it really annoys me that so few danish people understands swedish and vice-versa.
