Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

So we're probably around the time for the first band announcement(s)!

What do you guys see as a probable first release? (and please, realistic guesses here - not just your wishes...)

Personally I could see David Bowie being the first hard-hitting release this year.. If the rumor about him touring is true that is!

I could see it be Arcade Fire - new album the 29, have only played at Roskilde i 07, and the last time the where in Denmark, was in 11, so a big name, new album and not been here in Denmark for some time

I have to go with Arcade Fire as well.

Otherwise Im thinking maybe Trentemøller (new album, exclusive DK festival) or Arctic Monkeys (new album, high on peoples wishlist year after year).

The most likely announcement is probably Arcade Fire like everyone here is saying. But I could see Nine Inch Nails on the poster too. They only had a few dates in Europe last summer, and they should come back for another bout. Actually saw them at Pukkelpop this summer and their show is absolutely tremendous just like their legendary concert at Roskilde in 2009.
Tool is also pretty close to finishing their new record with a releasedate somewhere in the beginning of 2014 (according to Danny Carey). Should be an obvious choice!

Franz Ferdinand could be possible. they haven't been out with a new album since 2009, and last time they were at Roskilde, was 2006.

eh, black sabbath are playing denmark at the end of november, and daft punk and bowie still haven't made any plans for touring at all.

i'm kind of worried that northside will get arcade fire this year, but i'm hoping roskilde will prove me wrong. my guess is nine inch nails along with a middle sized indie rock name and a danish crowd pleaser (like sort sol or nephew or something along those lines)

I guess the ongoing rumour about Fleetwood Mac playing at Glastonbury (and therefore possibly Roskilde) just had a setback with John McVie being diagnosed with cancer.. Just cancelled their Australian and New Zealand tour. Wish him the best!

I think it's BECK.
New album in 2014.

But hope that it's
The Black Keys.

Let's see when time comes.

It's not Arcade Fire. RF announced on their FB-page, that they are not available during RF.

It's a comment to a person who was wishing for Arcade Fire. Too bad, Reflektor is awesome!

And now we saw why Arcade Fire isn't available for RF. They have just been announced for Northside. Not a bad first booking for them.

No the reason is:
"but unfortunately they’re going back over the pond before our weekend" that was Roskilde post on facebook, so they are not in europa in the roskilde weekend

Yes I just read that post on FB now, but it's unlikely they would play both festivals even if they were in Europe during both Festivals (not that it matters now).

By the way isn't it time for the Guess bands quiz now. I just saw that the contest started at november 5. last year.

So Linkin Park just got announced for Download Festival with a set that will include the album Hybrid Theory in its entirety.
Wouldn't otherwise bet on Linkin Park for Roskilde Festival, but if they're playing Hybrid Theory this might work! I mean, come on, who doesn't have Hybrid Theory at home?! I know they've lost a lot of the old fans, and some might get mad, if Roskilde books Linkin Park, but I'm guessing that people will still show up for the show. I certaintly would! Even though their last albums haven't lived up to the standards of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, they still kick ass live.
