Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Tbh, I sure don't hope the first announcement is either Aerosmith or Black Sabbath. It'd just be such a big, safe headliner that a lot of us could gather around - which surely is great, but is in no way challenging. I want something that is out of the ordinary. Black Sabbath have seen plenty of concerts nearby within the last couple of years (I know about the cancer, god bless Iommi, but there was Ozzy & friends last year, Black Sabbath this year in Forum). Just like Arcade Fire would have been a safe choice for Roskilde (although it fits great with NorthSide's profile).

Surely, I would love for either Black Sabbath or Aerosmith to come to Roskilde; but it's the name I want in a little time, not what should kick off the announcements.

Linkin Park with Hybird Theory could be interesting, it would surely create diversity, while lots of excitement among both older and younger fans. Beck too would be an interesting choice.

Granted, Aerosmith haven't been to Denmark since 2007. But I want something that challenges the audience a bit more. Like, last year the first announcement was Kvelertak. That's an odd one in the pile.

But while Kvelertak was a nice booking (I saw them again in Amager bio a few weeks ago) they weren't a headliner. I think they were part of the Volbeat announcement, if I remember correctly.
I think headliners should be safe, because a headliner should be able to get a 40000 audience at Orange, and Areosmith, Linkin Park or Black Sabbath would all be a fine first booking for me, just like Arcade Fire also would have been an adequate first headliner.
So I don't understand the complaint about safe headliners, because what unsafe headliner can fill Orange.

Well, I didn't say first headliner, I said first announcement (although yes, main focus is on headliners). And surely, a headliner should (preferably) be able to fill the Orange Stage, but often they tend not to. Mentioning Kvelertak was just to come with an example of a firstly announced name not being hugely popular (among the non-metal fans). I just think that what puts Roskilde above other festivals is that the take chances. They don't just announce three headliners, and the the subs following.

So my point is, just giving the audience Aerosmith or Black Sabbath right away wouldn't be a big surprise.

To answer your question of who might fill up Orange that isn't safe, I am not sure. IMO, they could announce a headliner who'd fill up Arena, or the new Avalon (have Mastodon come back as a headliner, just on Avalon instead this time - or something in the likes).

Guessing Robert DeLong. A new small act that can gather peoples attention just through one song. Kinda like Kvelertak last year. Or Maybe Pokey LaFarge, a new name in countrymusic, who really brings it live.. Kodaline maybe? A Roskilde-concert (and the attention that comes with being the first act) could really boost what seems to be an inevitable breakthrough
