Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Do you think that it would be a possibilty to revive Barret and Wright, then bring them together with Gilmour, Mason and Waters, make them 40 years younger and then make perform all their Syd Barret-era stuff on Orange Stage at Sunday Night? Would be awsumh icon_eek.gif

Probably, I've heard some rumours, can't confirm anything yet though. Stay tuned.

I think that maybe Syd can't relate to the whole thing, and thinks that it really hasn't got anything to do with him anymore - what with the whole Gilmour/Waters controversy about rights and whatnot.

Even if I jest luv'ed Waters performing the Dark Side in '06, I couldn't help feel just the tiniest little bit weird about it not being the Pink Floyd up there, but just Waters. Marvellous, just the same, though, and I consider it a once-in-a-life-time experience, or at least up there.

Heh. Then even more so. Wasn't aware that he is dead - very fanlike, wouldn't you say icon_razz.gif

Edit: Why won't my quote-function function properly? I'm not touching ANYthing.

Well he was very reclusive during the last few years of his life.

And the quote function does work properly. Once you've posted, refresh the page and it'll appear normally.

Actually having to make this refresh work-around does mean it's not working properly. Just like anything else on this forum, it doesn't work properly.

- quote, url etc etc posting only work refreshing the page
- poll and search option don't work at all
- pm, chat and other promised features have never been implemented

There's also some bugs in the pagina system. Threads with lots of posts will appear to have less pages in the forum overview than they actually have.

Yeah, that too.

As I recall one of the main reasons for moving to this crappy forum was that it would be integrated into the overall webpage design, something which is of really minor importance in my mind, it's not like anyone would mistake the official Roskilde forum from a fansite forum anyways. And another reason was that you could search the forum, as well as the main site, but since the search function doesn't work properly neither on the main site or on the forum that reason is moot as well.

Roskilde Festival, please admit your miserable mistake and buy a vBulletin forum for the few pennies it costs and let us have something that fucking works, ok?

EDIT: I even forgot to mention the most annoying glitch on the Roskilde forum at all. If you type in a reply and for some reason it doesn't get posted, due to temporary connection problems on either end the Roskilde forum unlike all other fora in existance forgets everything you've typed. Some you have to type it all over again. That's pretty pathetic, and means that I as as one of those who sometimes makes really long posts, always have to copy the entire post before hitting send, or risk it all getting lost. Extremely annoying and one of the reasons I don't post nearly as much as I probably would have done otherwise.

I think it was more about people having one profile for everything on the website (forum, comments on news articles, competitions etc). If all they wanted to do was make it look the same as the website, that's possible with the old forum system anyway.

vBulletin = $195 and half decent.
SMF (used for the old forum) = Free and brilliant.

SMF was perfect for this community, it's an excellent forum system. And it's sitting there archived. I say scrap this one and re-open the old one.

Quotations in my previous posts seems as they should, so - yeah, I guess.
