So I still think there must be something good left, and I would expect two more release announcements.
They should include a headliner, since they only have 7 headliners so far and seem to want 8 headliners for the poster (and a band like Machine head could have been a headliner, when Mastodon was last year). I would expect it to be a rock headliner (maybe hard rock).
Also a pair of solid subliners should be announced.
I don't have any specific band guesses.

You can't determine subliners and headliner by that premise first. Of course I can. The man is influential, a legend and has made and sold a shitload of records, even if he isn´t a big name in DK. RF is an internationally minded festival. However, he´s not a household name, with the broader public, in DK or otherwise. Lot´s of names aren´t, but that doesn´t mean that they aren´t worthy of sub- or headlinerstatus, imho. While most people with any kind of interest in music know who Bruce Springsteen is, The Roots are probably more unfamiliar. Or De La Soul. Has your mom and dad heard about Kraftwerk or Janes Addiction, or Einstürzende Neubauten? Those names deserve to be subheadliners in my opinion. I'll let that attempted insult slip, as it doesn't bother me. Bought my first Kraftwerk album when it came out and I was 16 when Jane's Addiction was the top underground band. I am not refusing your claim that some bands deserve to be top of the list, but the festival couldn't survive on that notion alone. It has to attract enough people to last. Making Peter Green headliner would make a lot of sense to me in terms of what he has done and the respect he deserves etc, but not many people would have a clue. Just an example. And I have not denied that Dr John is a good subliner, I think he is a stronger subliner than 50% this year. I was just trying to discuss on a broader spectre about what you said. Well, we can agree to disagree, then :D I would agree on a sub-headliner for Peter Green, even though I had to look him up. As a solo artist, headliner would be stretching it. Fleetwood Mac would, of course, deserve a headliner. Maybe it´s because I´ve always seen RF as a festival that takes music seriously, and aren´t about fads. While they certainly can be accused of trying a bit too hard with certain segments over the last decade, that is the festivals stated goal. Personally I think headliner/subheadliner are names that are hugely popular, and/or legends, and it´s hard to be the latter, without a big cult following. I´m sure Bon Iver are hugely popular at the moment (not with me though), but I can almost guarantee, that no one will know them in 40 years time. It´s way different with Dr. John. In other words, they make sense from different criteria. Even if I think Bon Iver should have been a sub-headliner :bang::wink::D (I hope/suppose you were joking about the insult thing, no offense was meant, I was trying to make a point about name recognition, not that I know anything about your parents taste in music ;-))

Has your mom and dad heard about Kraftwerk or Janes Addiction, or Einstürzende Neubauten? Those names deserve to be subheadliners in my opinion. Actually it does, at least unknown bands aren't worth of headliner status. Roskilde like every other festivals are by most people very much rated according to their headliners, so if people are looking for a reason to come, they will first look at the headliners, and see if they like them and in order for that they need to know them. Although this year there is quite a lot of hip hop, why i will not be having any problems getting my hip hop fix.

Africa Hitech are very boring. Particularly considering there are lot of better artists on the Warp label, and a lot of them can play at short notice.
