A snout full of charcoalBy Linda Hansen ”They’re hard, edged and they scrape your nose,” Michael complains. He is talking about bogeys. Apart from dust, the average festival nose pick contains dried mucus. This secretion comes from the mucous membrane in your nose, and when it dries and becomes a solid crust, you have a bogey. Add urine dust and you have a piece of Roskilde charcoal in your nostril. ”It was well hidden” Their camping area is in fact particularly exposed to dust. It is known as the festival’s working-class quarter, where the dust from the gravel pit colours all the pavilions yellowish brown and settles in the snouts. By request of Roskilde Festival’s reporter, Christian digs out a festival bogey so that we can see what we are talking about. Christian looks at the black finding from his nose and says with a pleased sigh: ”What a relief to get rid of this one. And it was well hidden.” ![]() | ![]() Photo: Tobias Nørgaard Pedersen |
