Culmination at ConstructionBy Linda Hansen Translation by Minna Julie Kolte In the Construction area at Agora C there are sounds of a hammer hitting nails and fingers, power tools and chatting. Several tool boxes and materials have been lent out. The results: a number of very different works of art. Kenneth, 35, is Norwegian, and he has over the past couple of days spent twelve hours doing woodwork, designing and painting a sculpture. It has been "totally great", he says with a big smile. And Kenneth's figure has also been promoted, so it is going to be exhibited at the Festival Site. The sculpture consists of boxes, but Kenneth really wants to put focus on the space around the boxes. In the middle of the sculpture, he has carved the words "Ingen form utan tomhet", which means "No shape without emptiness" in Norwegian. "I had a clear idea with the project when I started. If hadn't been for the space around it, the shape would not be there", the both philosophical and skilled craftsman says. In the other end of Construction, a group of young women are sitting in the middle of a strategic meeting. They have to decide on how to make further headway with their sculpture - "Abstract of a forest". The edged wooden plates do have an organic look in the way they have been put them together. "It also flaps in the wind," says Monique smiling. She is one of the five architecture students, who have created the forest sculpture. However, the architecture students are sorry they have not "landed anyone" with the help of their art. But it can still happen. | ![]() From the left it is Anne Kathrine, Monique, Nina & Johanne.
