At first glance, they look happy under the white pavilion in K48, which is covered with coloured wind mills, straws and disco balls. But there is somebody the boys in Yes We Camp are missing. Their friend, Jeppe.

When he was told that he had an exam Wednesday in the middle of the festival, Jeppe decided that he could not afford to go. But his friends wanted him there – especially because he is in need of a fattening diet after six month doing humanitarian work in Africa – and through facebook they have collected DKK 587 (approx. € 80) for Jeppe’s ticket.

”The idea was that 1820 people were supposed to join our group and each pay DDK 1. But it wasn’t quite successful, Dennis, the man behind the idea, explains.
 
Today, the group only has 148 members, but luckily Jeppe’s parents were inspired and have collected DKK 500 during a dinner party. Jeppe deserves it, is the common ground in the camp..

"Jeppe is a lovely boy. He’s just started a bicycle repair shop in Sierra Leone – and then he does all kinds of entertainment tricks, Dennis tells and he is interrupted by someone in the other end of the camp.

"One time he opened a bottle of beer by jumping down on a long plank that lay on top of an empty beer crate."

"He can also open a beer with a towel”, someone else adds.

"And packs of cigarettes"

Over the mobile Jeppe gives his opinion.

”I’m incredibly touched, but also a bit scared about the thought of deserving a fundraiser”, he adds and reveals that he will arrive at the camp tonight (Wednesday, ed).

The friends are celebrating with a grand party, where everyone is welcome. Lasagne is served at 7 pm, and Jeppe has promised to entertain with all sorts of beer openings. All you have to bring is at least one bottle of beer – according to Jeppe the cans are no fun. They are too easy.
