Guys’ stuff at girls’ campBy Michelle From Hoxer Translated by Tanja Cim Olesen A pink fence and a ditto stove mark the entrance to "Camp Desperate Housewives" near Service Centre East. Inside hangs a large banner carrying the camp name, and seated in the girly coloured furniture we meet the residents of the camp; nine Copenhagen girls. For the second time in a row, they attend the festival living out the popular TV show theme. "We were all singles when we came up with the idea, and really like luxury, so what better than to live on Wisteria Lane? From then on things fed on themselves" one of the girls, who has the nickname "Romanian lover", says. Unfortunately, the girls have had quite a few of the things stolen that contributed to giving the camp its oestrogenic character. Among the missing objects are both a garland made of panties, a mirror with printed sexual positions, some lamps and a dildo. "Before we used to live with different people in mixed camps, until it became a hormonal chaos, with guys and girls living together. Therefore we decided to make a 100 % girls' camp," Romanian Lover, the primus motor and spokeswoman of the camp, explains. She has taken care of both budget planning, Facebook activities, stickers and banners before the festival. Although the residents of the camp are all female, there is definitely also room for guests of the opposite sex. The girls are far from shy, and the sexual undertones are hard to ignore, when the chat flows freely over the pink coffee table. "We come here to reach the sky" one of the girls says, and slides a voucher for one "joyride" across the table with the option of ticking off who in the camp you prefer to be with. The brash talk is sometimes too much for people though, the girls say: In return for their frivolous style, the camp has got a naked house gardener, who diligently helps keeping the garden clean. By the way, a daily activity that together with the morning workout, attracts a large audience among the other festival guests. | ![]() Photo: Ole Neis Nielsen |
