Less Trash – More Music

Dancing and singing to the sound of trash. Recycled materials can be used to create art and music.

Viva la Renovation’s colourful and cheerful team dances through the camping area to the tunes of instruments made from recycled materials and environmental slogans. One of the people behind the dramatic parade is called Christian. He explains that the parade is meant to inspire the audience to think of recycling.

”There is no finger-wagging at the audience, but instead it is meant to be a motivating factor. We want to have less trash to clean up, and instead have more money to support the music and all the humanitarian projects.”

This has been boiled down to the slogan “Less Trash – More Music”, which also functions as a refrain in one of the songs in the ‘trashy concert’.

Christian encourages people to stop by the popular recycling house at Agora G.

”All kinds of people come here. There is a good energy associated with the house and all our activities. The atmosphere is good and people can relax in the beach chairs.”

Outside of the festival, Viva la Renovation is housed in Valby, where they have a project room focused on recycling. The works of art that will be created in the house during the festival will be put on display in their Valby house called Location Renovation.
