Smoke signals from a trucker teepee

Look for a giant, spray-painted teepee if you have lost your way. A couple of handy boyscouts live there, and they will help you.

”Where the hell are you? We are right down by the teepee.” Common phrases at this festival, and they will be even more common as the festival passes by, since there is this giant, tagged teepee at Agora K.

In the teepee the brothers Ruben and Nick are living, and they actually built the monster themselves - with a little help from daddy.

The construction of the teepee is home welded:”After all, we are boyscouts”, Ruben says while resting nonchalantly on the teepee’s wall, nodding towards some of the iron cross bars.

We have collected the iron ourselves and welded the whole thing together in our father’s garage. The tent canvas is made of old truck tarp. It has been quite a job, but it lasts” he smiles and looks proudly at the teepee, which can celebrate five years’ anniversary this year.

Last year the rain made it more difficult to put up the teepee because of the mud. “We put it up in the beginning of the week last year, and we had many grateful visitors who wanted to escape the rain,” Ruben smiles.

”But this thing is elephant heavy, so it will withstand wind and rain. You can count on it!” Nick adds and admits that if you cannot find your way on the camping area, you should just look for the smoke signals puffing out from the top of the teepee, when somebody is smoking the peace pipe on a good day.
