Water beats the heat

Drink as much as you can! That is the happy message from all of us to all of you, who are melting away at the festival site. With the addition: WATER. Also the swimming water is worshipped when Roskilde cannot breathe.

”We attack everyone who pass us with our water pistol. Only to help, of course, because everyone needs water at the moment. Both inside and out,” Sille and Nicoline explain in front of their tent at camping East, while they aim at both photographer and reporter from Orange Press. Thanks for that!”

When the two girls take a break in their rescue act, they swim in the lake and drink water and cold cokes to prevent dehydration. Another lake swimmer, Jeannette from a small town in Denmark, thinks that the temperature of the water is already too high.

”The water is fairly cold, so it helps a bit to jump into the swimming lake. But it's far from enough. The head under the tap frequently is also a must… and then some cold beers," she adds.

Even though there are longer queues than usual in front of the cold showers, there are still people paying for a hot shower ticket from the small ticket box, where the staff is sweating.

”Yes, it gets quite hot in here. But we get supplies of cold water all the time, and then we have a shaded area in the back, where we can relax before we melt away," Ann-Louise says.

Water is necessary in the heat and come Saturday it will come naturally from above. Enjoy!
