Trend-setter on the environmental front

People’s Climate Action calls Roskilde Festival a trend-setter on the environmental front and praises the festival’s climate-friendly initiatives.

Roskilde Festival 2009 incorporated a lot of successful climate-friendly actions, concludes People’s Climate Action and points to good examples such as charging cell phones with leg power and showering in solar-heated or -cooled water.

4,000 festival guests lived in the special climate camp ‘Climate Community’ at Roskilde Festival 2009 and put the climate changes in focus by fulfilling some climate-friendly rules for living, for example eating organic food and participating in waste separation.

The climate will also play an important role at Roskilde Festival 2010 where new climate-friendly concepts will be introduced such as charging your cell phone for free by biking for 15 minutes.

The experiences from Roskilde Festival 2009 form the basis of the continued efforts to take care of the environment and draw attention to the climate changes at Roskilde Festival 2010 with initiatives such as the campaign Green Footsteps and the Climate Community.
