until Roskilde Festival 2015 - 27 June to 4 July
Wednesday 02.07.14

Busy Thursday

Tomorrow the festival site opens, which means a lot of people and dense traffic around the city of Roskilde.

The event we’re all waiting for is near: the opening of the festival site. The site opens to everyone at 17:00.

At 17:15 the first artist takes to the Apollo stage and at 18:30 Outkast opens Orange Stage. There‘ll be a lot of guests who want to be there when the festival site opens, so expect some queueing. You'll have a good chance of getting in on time if you’re there early.

Come early
But you do not necessarily have to wait until the music starts to come to the festival. If you arrive earlier in the day you have the chance to experience the unique atmosphere of the camping area, where 70,000 guests have been working all week to create a large temporary city full of themed camps, music, activities and a lot of Orange Feeling.

Transport to the festival site
The opening of the festival site also means extra traffic on the motorway around Roskilde. If you are coming from Copenhagen, we recommend that you take the train to Roskilde. In addition to the usual departures, there will be added extra train connections from both Jutland and Copenhagen to Roskilde, and from Roskilde Station (track 7) to the festival site (Camping West). Travelling time is approximately three minutes. You also have the option of a shuttle bus non-stop between Roskilde Station (Østergade) and Entrance East / West.

If you’re planning on arriving by car from Copenhagen, you should drive along the main road from Ringsted or from Solrød via Køgevej.

If you have a ticket, but haven’t gotten your wristband yet, please visit one of our Entrances (see map) and have your ticket exchanged for a wristband to get access to the festival site.

Parking
At Roskilde Festival we offer parking for those who arrive by car. Parking is generally free but if you want to park close to the festival it requires a parking voucher. There are large parking areas in the vicinity of the festival, so there ought to be room for everyone - including people coming on Thursday. Should all our parking areas fill up, it will be possible to find parking in Roskilde City.

Getting home by public transportation
After the last concert at Orange stage, there will be trains departing for Copenhagen at 23:52, 00:53 and 01:26 from the festival platform, Camping West.

Furthermore, there will be busses for Copenhagen departing from Maglegårdsvej after the last concert.

Busses for Roskilde Station and Copenhagen depart from entrance East all night.
