Roskilde Festival supports Scandinavian volunteers

Roskilde Festival Charity Society has donated DKK 750,000 to two one-day festivals which celebrate volunteerism.

It is no secret that Roskilde Festival is dependent on volunteers. Almost 32,000 volunteers help create the festival by working in the festival stands, building stages, taking care of people, tents, cars or something else. And Roskilde Festival is not the only festival that benefits from passionate volunteers. Many organisations, clubs, cultural centres etc. depend completely on volunteers that put their energy, lifeblood and working hours into it.

That is why Roskilde Festival Charity Society has donated DKK 750,000 to the organisation Operation Dagsværk which celebrates the volunteers with two one-day festivals - one in Oslo and one in Copenhagen. The festival is called Operasjon Gränseløs, and it gives young Scandinavians the opportunity to meet for a day of workshops, activities and music in a celebration of volunteerism.

Many of the physical installations that makes up Operasjon Gränseløs will be the same in both Oslo and Copenhagen, and you can experience them in Dream City at this year’s Roskilde Festival.
