mandag 09.06.08 Less Trash – More MusicIn 2007 many guests abandoned their things when leaving Roskilde Festival. Since then, more than 500 people have spent weeks on cleaning up. It has cost Roskilde Festival over one million euro – an amount that would have been better spent on music. In collaboration with the event group Viva La Renovation, we now start the fight against garbage under the slogan ”Less Trash – More Music”. If everyone makes sure to keep the camp clean, we are already well on the way. Use the red garbage bags which are handed out by the service guards, and which you can pick up free of charge at all service towers. Put filled garbage bags in the garbage containers which are found at all service towers. If you want to make an extra effort for the environment, you can hand in sorted garbage at a special area at entrance East. During the festival you can participate in garbage collection competitions. Here you can win a cold beer for each garbage bag you hand in. Previous years have shown that it can amount to many beers! Each garbage bag counts – even if you are only handing in three. For each bag you hand in you get a lot for the draw for tickets to Roskilde Festival ’09. When leaving the festival you will meet our service guards in orange vests, who encourage you to take your tent and equipment home with you – or to throw them out. With ”Less Trash – More Music” we hope for a result that can give us more music in 2009 as well as a profit that we can donate to humanitarian purposes. Thanks in advance for your effort in making Roskilde a cleaner festival! | ![]() In collaboration with the event group Viva La Renovation, we now start the fight against garbage under the slogan ”Less Trash – More Music” - photo: Lone Kröning Mogensen |
