Roskilde Festival has developed a sound policy to create an acceptable and pleasant sound environment for both festival guests, employees and neighbours.

Roskilde festival focuses on ensuring an acceptable sound level. It has put many initiatives in progress, for instance, a booklet about our sound policy for staff and audience produced in collaboration with the Municipality of Roskilde and Roskilde Police.

In Denmark there are no rules about how high you can play for an audience and only neighbours and employees are protected by law in Denmark.

Roskilde Festival continues to develop the sound conditions and set acceptable limits. By hanging the loud speakers high, making breaks between concerts and selling quality earplugs, Roskilde Festival strives to reduce the negative affects on the audience's hearing.
