Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Hey,

I was hoping someone would be able to help me out on this question. So, I am coming from Australia however when i intended on coming to Roskilde I thought it was a 4 day festival, I did not realise about the warm-up. Would it still be possible to find a spot for a two person tent on the Thursday morning in the J area? as I would not be able to get there any earlier. Cheers, any help would be fantastic, also any tips would be amazing icon_smile.gif

No, a two person tent will not be a problem in J. Most other places it probably willicon_smile.gif
Nice to have more people from australia! One year my camp was just next to some really cool australians who we made friends with icon_smile.gif They offered us some of their cold beer, and we gave them some danish stuff that they really didnt like!
Then the year later my brother and a friend (unfortunately i wasnt there) were walking around the campsite at night. When they heard a david bowie song my brother (probably very drunk) jumped on his knees and played air-guitar to the people who blasted the song out from their speakers. Suddenly they all realised that they had seen each other before... It was the australians from last year!
Just had to tell the story... from what i have head it was the most awesome moment!

concerning the tips, then there are far to many to start listing hereicon_smile.gif i guess you can find a thread somewhere on the forumicon_smile.gif

You get a wristband when you arrive at one of the entrances in exchange for your ticket. Piece of cake and nothing to worry about.

About the weather, dont get too excited. It can be pretty much anything from 30 degrees, which is roasting hot for most of us, to rain all week. Something in between like last year is probably prefered by most people.

There´s some useful tips here: http://roskilde-festival.dk/uk/practical/festival_for_beginners/

The most important things to bring are something to sleep in, good pair of shoes and good festival spirit (as I know you aussies always do) and you´ll be fine. I think you can buy your rain-gear at the festival in case of bad weather (does anybody know if they sell wellies on the service-centers?).

Shame that you´ll miss the pre-party as it has got lots to do with Roskilde being so special. Well, there´s always next year.. icon_wink.gif Many get addicted, you know.

I´ll be probably be staying at J too, since we will be late ourselves (arriving on Monday), so look for a long-haired, bearded guy with red eyes and bad odeur at that point mumbeling something in a language nobody understands (I´m finnish), and we´ll have some beers on me.

Any questions that guide didn´t answer are welcome. People in this forum are always eager to help out.

One tent shouldn´t be a problem.
