Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Among the first announcement of music for Malmöfestivalen 2011 (free festival) are:

Iron and Wine (US),
NOFX (US),
Those Dancing Days,
Best Coast (US),
No Use For A Name (US),
Boysetsfire (US),
Bouncing Souls (US)
Baskery

+

Ghost and Kurt Vile and many more a couple of days ago!

It's between 19-26 august this year. NOTICE again: it's free and there will be a lot more acts announced (normally between 40-70 acts all in all) in the period up until the festival. So no worries about tickets and stuff since it's free. Just be there icon_smile.gif

Personally I'm really happy about seeing NOFX and Iron and Wine for free this summer.

(During the last few years I've attended Malmöfestivalen they have booked acts like these:

Band of Horses, HEALTH, Mayhem, Mike Patton, Flogging Molly, Kaizers Orchestra, Opeth, Dropkick Murphys, Atmosphere, The pains of being pure at heart, Yann Thiersen, Millencolin, Bullet, Etienne de Crecy, Bob Hund, Gang of Four, Beach House, The Sounds, A Camp, Timbuktu, Lady Sovereign, Thåström, Promoe, Nephew, Aborted, The Dwarves, Johnossi, Efterklang, Miike Snow, Against Me!, Booka Shade, Familjen, Teddybears)

Oooh, I second the NOFX motion. Always fun - even the festival's beer "policies" can't lessen that. icon_wink.gif I'll assume that hasn't changed? Haven't been there since 2006.

(and Bouncing Souls - the better part of pop punk)

And Swedes frowning at us, because we're sitting in the street on a crate we brought from Denmark. icon_wink.gif

Last year me and my mates went over to see Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Shout Out Louds and Booka Shade and we had no problem drinking the beers we brought in our backpack, right in front of the stage. I think a backpack is a better solution than the crate though... icon_smile.gif I'm definitely going again!

Wasn't a problem as such with the crate either. Just frowns. But then, I'm used to frowns. icon_wink.gif Other than that, some festival personnel just told us to please deliver the crate and bottles to some van at the main stage, or bring them back home, rather than just leave them. Fair enough. icon_smile.gif Had a few "stark"öl in the enclosures, which made us quite sure we weren't going to bother with that again. No point.

The backpack and 6-8 Hardcore IPA might do the trick. icon_razz.gif

Haha, nah. Being a "voluntarily homeless" street punk in the late 90's - before I moved from Aalborg to Copenhagen - was quite enough for frowns. And quite a bit more than that at times (when we naively visited a certain competitor festival). I think the castle freak might actually have done better in Jutland. icon_wink.gif

I hate myself for only finding out about this now. So many awesome bands ...

I'll probably not get to see Bouncing Souls ever now and I wouldn't mind seeing NOFX again :/

Nice, but I live in Oslo and taking the trip just for one band might take a little more than what my wallet can handle.

But Dropkick Murphys are playing in Oslo in February, so perhaps I'll get lucky and Bouncing Souls will join there too icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks icon_smile.gif
