Quick guide for the search

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Hi all!

Just thought I'd ask the question since this is going to be not only my first Roskilde, but my first trip to Denmark, will there be anything for me to eat? icon_cool.gif

I'm vegan, my boyfriend is a vegetarian, and although I've done plenty of festivals and stints on the road as a vegan, I've heard the Danes are pretty keen on their dairy! I was planning on lugging along a sack of food bars anyway (if only to have food on hand for when I'm too hungover to leave the tent) but what sort of thing is there to buy on site? Are there any supermarkets etc. close-by?

On the off-chance, any other vegans (especially locals!) going to be coming? Always awesome to meet new people, and besides, it looks like we might be moving to Copenhagen in the coming year; pending our job situations.

Cheers guys!

Hi Sophie

At least as Roskilde Festival there'll be plenty to eat. Every food stall at Roskilde is required to have at least one vegetarian dish. I suspect it's also vegan at most places. And many food stalls don't sell anything but vegan food so no problems there.

Yo!

I'm vegetarian myself and used to be vegan for 3 years (went to RF during those 3 years as well) and being vegan at the festival is no problem at all! Actually it's much easier being vegan during RF than it is being vegan the rest of the year. Denmark is pretty much the worst country ever to be vegan in (if you don't cook yourself that is). Restaurants in Denmark is pretty bad in general to offer a vegan or even a vegetarian option, sure you can always get a boring green salad but you get fed up with that pretty fast.

Thank you both! That's really great to hear.

Reben, that's exactly what I've heard from everyone else about eating out in Denmark! I'm from a city where your only vegan options are falafel, chips or asking for no cheese on a pizza so I don't exactly have high expectations for anywhere else!!

At Roskilde Festival we have a huge range of delicious quality food. In addition to a great music experience, we want our guests to have a nice gastronomic experience - and there must be something for everyone. All food stalls serve at least one vegetarian right - so there are plenty of possibilities for your boyfriend. A number of stalls also serve vegan food, and you can always use our cooking areas at the campsite. At the festival area we have both supermarkets and kiosks where you can buy groceries - so you don't have to leave the festival site to do your grocery shopping.
