Still rocking in 10.000 years

Do you ever wish that Roskilde Festival would continue forever? Now is the time! All you have to do is donate some blod to the artist Kristian Von Hornsleth.

”Wow!” Helle squeaks frightened of the needle pricking her finger. She is surrounded by girl friends from the secret group called Patlauget (the Titty Guild). They all want to join the artist Kristian Von Hornsleth’s project, Deep Storage. Helle squeezes some blood on to a piece of paper, and together with one string of her hair, it is to be put in a star-shaped sculpture made of iron. It will all end on the bottom of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean.

”It is an interesting way of discussing eternity,” Kristian Von Hornsleth says. ”When all our hassle defeating famine and climate change shows wrong – and it will do – then Deep Storage is the future solution for humanity. And of course the party freaks from Roskilde Festival are needed in the future.”   In 10,000 years, he imagines a scenario where aliens pass by and revive the donators thanks to the DNA in their blood.   ”Surely, one’s blo0d will have the same alcohol level as the donation time,” Kristian assures.

Helle and the girls from the Titty Guild are proud of their certificates, which they received after donating DNA. ”They are going to be kept safely in the guild’s storage file,” Helle says and looks forward to continue the party with the other freaks in 10.000 years. By the way, she recommends being a bit tipsy before getting the brick. ”But I’m probably a bit squeaky, because the needle is really small.”

You find Deep Storage east of Astoria. Here you can donate a drop of blood to the project and see a copy of the sculpture made of wood. As an extra festival service, you can have your certificate sent home so it will not get crumpled or lost during the festival.
