Bid on musician-made sustainable art

Musicians were also creative painters at this year's Roskilde Festival. Now you can bid on a selection of works by Gojira and Deichkind.

The Odeon stage played a very special part at this year's Roskilde Festival. It was located in the middle of a green area where all trade and activity focused on sustainability. The same effort was made on the stage with power-saving LED lighting.

All performing artists on the stage were invited to participate in an art workshop where they could make paintings out of recycled material.

Members of the French metal band Gojira and the German colourful band Deichkind visited the art workshop backstage and gave vent to their creative expression with brushes.

A selection of these works are now auctioned off at auction house Lauritz.com's website. The auctions run for 9 days – until Wednesday 23 September.

You can also bid on 4x2 special treatment tickets, which are separate one-day tickets to Roskilde Festival 2010, including a backstage tour and a visit to the art workshop. The special treatment tickets are worth DKK 1900 (approx. € 255) apiece but are also auctioned off with a starting price at € 40.

The final purchase sum (including buyer's premium) is donated to Green Footsteps, Roskilde Festival's initiative to promote sustainable development and recycling.

Roskilde Festival repeats the art workshop for musicians at Roskilde Festival 2010 that takes place on 1 - 4 July (warm-up from 27 June).
