Camp Crazy Legs is Camp of the Year

For the third year in a row Roskilde Festival honours a camp that does something extraordinary for the atmosphere at the camping area. The winner this year is Camp Crazy Legs.

Wearing orange workwear and screaming yellow jackets, Camp Crazy Legs seeks to establish a subway between Roskilde Station, Orange Stage and camping area G. The target is said to be within sight and until then the camp can please themselves with the title Camp of the Year.

The camp has distinguished itself by consistently waking up the fellow finalists at 6 o’clock every morning. This has been done by rolling their quite comprehensive mobile stereo all the way to the competition camping area and turning the volume up. Afterwards they opened the tents and gently woke up  the slumbering party people.

With the nomination of Camp Crazy Legs, the festival seeks to honour a camp that contributes to the mood in the camping area by generously distributing something as old-fashioned as life-affirming love – and 66 litres of shots that have been poured in the bypassers.

The camping area at the Roskilde Festival is a study in how people bring out the best in themselves, and the jury behind the competition believes that Camp Crazy Legs is taking the lead in promoting joy, courtesy, ingenuity and interaction between the festival guests.

With 110 registered camps, the competition has been harder than ever before. In the light of having visited the 6 finalists on several occasions during the warm-up period, the jury finds that Camp Crazy Legs is marginally better that the runner up Camp Brokeback and the third place Camp Bride.

During the festival the following camps have been appointed Camp of the Day:

  • Mario Camp (Monday)
  • Camp Brokeback (Tuesday)
  • Where’s Wally Camp (Wednesday)
  • Star Wars Camp (Thursday)
  • Camp Bride (Friday)
  • Camp Crazy Legs (Saturday)
