Sound artist captures secret sounds of Roskilde

Jacob Kirkegaard has recorded the sound of beer in the taps among many other festival sounds. The alternative soundtrack of Roskilde 2010 has just been released.

Roskilde-goers know that it is never quiet at Roskilde Festival. Even when the amplifiers on the stages have been turned off, everything is still abuzz with life.

Internationally renowned sound artist Jacob Kirkegaard has gone exploring the sounds behind the big festival’s camp life, concerts, conversations and laughter.

The result is a peculiar compilation, and all curious ears can now listen to the fascinating and strange soundtrack.

The recordings below contain oscillations, frequencies and rhythms, found the most unlikely places: between the tent pegs, in the gravel, along the fences.

Join Jacob Kirkegaard In a parallel reality of strange sounds that accompany the festival without our ears being aware of it.
