Camping
The unique camp life at Roskilde Festival is a central part of the grand Roskilde experience. The camping area is divided into smaller areas where the festival guests live, rest, meet up and party. In the centre of each area is an open space, which we call an agora. Here you can cook, get information, help (if needed) and have a good time. Also, we offer free luggage storage facilities and food and beverage stalls as well as kiosks, showers etc.
For reasons of fire safety, we ask you not to bring living room furniture or similar inflammable components to the camping area. This does not apply to common, lightweight camping equipment, fixed built-in installations in caravans and equipment normally used for tent camping.
Feel free to bring | Leave at home |
• common, lightweight camping furniture • folding and leaf tables • small deck and folding chairs • sleeping mats • white pavilions • foam rubber mattresses | • living room furniture, e.g. armchairs, sofas, coffee and dining tables • construction material of any kind • generators and household appliances |
Again in 2012 we present a so-called entrance booking where you can book entry through one of five possible entrances. It is not a question of where you want to camp but simply which entrance you want to enter through. Read more about entrance booking >>
Area J (Silent & Clean) is a special camping area that calls for a cleaner living and silence at night without noisy parties and loud music. The area's service guards will take action against noisy behaviour and can exclude people from the area if the rules are not followed. The basic rule of thumb: If you don't appreciate a calmer atmosphere, set camp somewhere else.
At the campsite you can bring your own beverages. We also sell bevrages from stalls at the camping area so it's difficult to be thirsty at Roskilde Festival.
Badically, you cannot bring beverages into the festival site (you know, the place with all the stages and the live music). However, you are allowed to bring one beverage of 0.5 litre with you from the camp site to the festival area. You can bring empty containers for beverages opened or closed. Do notice, the containers must not be made of glass.
Alternative camping options
Would you like to arrive to a pitched tent, live in a caravan, bring your motorcycle or buy a camping gear package and avoid the troubles of bringing tent, mattress and sleeping bag? Read more about the possibilities in the submenus.
