Sunday was wet at times, and the festival grass is definitely not at risk of drying out. But why should bad weather put a stop to a good party?
We went out to find waterproof festival tips among many of you who kept your spirits high despite the rain.
In the area around Clean Out Loud, we find 'Conrad's Safe Ros-Camp'. Despite a broken pavilion and the mess from last night's party, the camp keeps dry with painter's coveralls. “It works surprisingly well,” say three of the happy participants in unison. “We can’t do much else but try to stay dry.”
We encountered another – and somewhat opposite – tactic at ‘Til vands, til dans og i luften’. Here, two of the camp's members choose to embrace the rain and take the opportunity to dance in swim shorts.
“We can’t get wet clothes if we’re not wearing any,” they say. “We’re having a party, and nothing can stop us.”
In Camping West, we find Stadion, where throughout the First Days there's ample opportunity to get your heart rate up with tournaments, morning runs, and yoga. And here, the rain couldn’t put a stop to any of the many events. Our fear of an empty field was simply put to shame.
The first team to play is competing for the second year in a row, and with festival tickets up for grabs for those chasing victory in one of Stadium's many tournaments, they were sure to join again this year – despite the rain.
“We didn’t win last year, so we’re taking revenge,” say the wet football players. “It’s been in the cards since last year.”
When asked why they’re braving the rain, the answer is very simple: “Because it’s fun – and we don’t really have anything else to do.”
