  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I'm quite sure that the rumour isn't true. But anyway, on swedish sight Nyheter 24 some journalist posted that he had heard that U2 is on it's way to Roskilde.

Big WOW if it turns out to be true.
That's the name to boost the ticket sales, and the main attraction and unique gig that everyone has been looking for.

How reliable is this site usually?

Well, i think the site is reliable but that dosen't mean that the rumours supposed to be true. I know that the guy who wrote it attends Roskilde every year. So I can't see why he should lie on purpose.

Sure, U2 have hole in their calendar around Roskilde. But I can't see why they should be doing a one-off festivalgig in the middle of their own tour. I give it 5 % chance at the highest.

To be honest, I had never been to that site before.
The main swedish newspapers are not reporting of any U2-rumors.

Quite a rumour. Even though I don't care much for U2 (anymore anyway, 10 years back they were ok, 20 years back they were great), I do hope it's true, only for the sole purpose of Roskilde selling out this year.

Exactly.

Against: They probably would have been announced by now.
Not really room for anymore headliners.
They are quiete exspensive.

For: They have room in the calendar and no shows scheduled in DK this summer...I believe.
Goodwill from the band after their early-career-gig at Roskilde.

Hm, could be nice.

Indeed they are quite expensive - but if booked it might be Roskilde's reaction to the weak ticketsale this year. One could think that they with U2 (if booked of course) are trying to boost the ticketsale to eventually reach the goal of 65.000 in order to avoid a deficit. I do actually think that they would be able to do so finansial - and you need one of the really big guns if you wan't to do any real difference to the ticketsale in last minute.

The trouble lies more in wheater Roskilde actually think that they need to sell those extra tickets and is willing to take the risk - and wheater or not U2 is willing to help Roskilde by playing their only festivalgig here, and lowering their price in order to make the booking possible at all.

Here's the swedish text, that the rumour comes from, in english. (using google translator.

Irish Superstars of U2 coming to Roskilde Festival this year.

There is a rumor that we heard today. Nothing says that it is true, it can be be a pure misunderstanding, but there are still some chance that it actually may be true ...

It would in that case, the rescue of the giant Danish festival which, according to the Danish radio yesterday, have only sold 40 000 of the approximately 75 000 tickets so far.

A really nice and needed saving for the festival.

Damit ... If I wasn't checking this site to many times from before, no I cant leave it icon_razz.gif.
Don't believe it's true, but as most of have you stated. It will rely boost the ticket sale.

But why shouldn't Roskilde let this out at once? It's only 15 days to go.

I find this extremely hard to believe with only two weeks until the festival kicks off.. However, this would indeed be pretty awesome, and would most likely sell the rest of the tickets

Bono was asked the question of roskilde in an official interview about 3 weeks ago... And he said that its not going to happen this year, but they would really like to play at roskilde next year, because they like dk and the festival.

Anyway I find it hard to belive there are allready enought headliners, and two weeks to the festival - but it would properly sell a ticket or two icon_cool.gificon_cool.gif

One can see what bands are about to be announced, and U2 will play!

Look at this example

http://www.roskilde-festival.dk/band/singleband/DJ+Freddy

- There is an error, meaning that this band isn't in the database.
Now watch this:
http://www.roskilde-festival.dk/band/singleband/u2

They'll play on friday on Canopy/Orange stage icon_eek.gif
