Quick guide for the search
X

  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

I mean every single year, when wishes are up for grabs there always seem to be alot of (last year, or the year be for that-lineup-wishing) ok i get it some of you maybe was so blown away over "your new favorite band" that you just saw at last years RF that you would like to see them again this year, But WHY!? banghead.gif do you have to wish for them so soon. I mean shouldn't we encourage new acts AT LEAST so we don't get to see the SAME acts every year. It's not even likely that the folks at RF would even consider bringing every fucking acts back for seconds every year or is it? NO ITS NOT! let's make some REAL wishes. I personly would like to see some acts that are rarely in europe. icon_eek.gif How about;

Augustana, Howie Day, Anberlin, Xavier Rudd. Or perhaps; Idlewild, Saybia or Mads langer?

Mads Langer and Saybia played last year, from the inside of my toilet..

But yea, I get your rant.. But you could also look upon it as people had gotten some cool experiences icon_smile.gif
Some bands would make sense to get back again soon, if they released new stuff or something like that - but mainly Roskildes bookers arent that dopey that they'll book the same band twice.. Dey haz spezial band-gogglez for dat!

Deleted user While I agree that we shouldn't be seeing bands like *ahem* *cough* MUSE *cough* too often, I don't really think the most active users on this forum go for the guys that have been here before.

Personally I don't really care for headliners at all. I want to see something I've never heard of - and how can I request a band I've never heard of?

So I go for the stuff that's unlikely to show up because nobody besides me have heard of them, but are still possible. That's why i keep mentioning the bands I do. When we're guessing announcements or solving the teaser, that's a different story, we don't necessarily like the bands, but we think they'll show up.

Also, nobody wants to discuss bands they've never heard of, so the discussion always tends towards the bigger acts, and let's face it, there isn't an infinite supply of headliner material that hasn't been at RF before.

I totally agree on some point in all the posts.
except for the one including mads langer in some dudes toilett icon_smile.gif
It's just that I live so fucking far up in sweden and we don't get to see any great bands. My only hope kinda lays in that RF-booking team get some great artists. That's why im kinda bored out with all the radio-friendly wishings around here. People get to hear them on an everyday basis anyway so let's get som non-commercial gigs huh? icon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

Well, I don't mind a bit that MUSE is coming back this year - i wouldn't even mind a bit if they were playing at RF every year, but hey, that's just me icon_razz.gif

I don't know.. I guess people request the bands they like, or want to see live. Perhaps they had awesome experiences at RF during concerts with those bands, and they think it would be cool if they came back, or maybe some people don't even think about the fact that they played at RF. Or maybe they didn't get a chance to see them? I don't know.. i guess there could be several reasons to request bands that have played at RF before icon_wink.gif

Personally I love to see the bands i've never even heard of - I like to experience some new music, but.. since muse is one of my favorite bands, i HAD request them icon_biggrin.gif I just think they're aweosme!
