  • Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
  • Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
  • Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.

Fantastic booking! It doesen't matter that they been at Roskilde a couple of times already. They are the best in their genre so they are more than welcomed back.

Such great news, their last three albums have all been brilliant. I missed them in 2010, so hopefully they won't clash with anything this year!

Everything about this says headliner; announced alone on a monday and referred to as one of "this year's main attractions".
Worst case scenario that means we have 7 headliners right now. Volbeat, Slipknot, Queens of the Stoe Age, Rihanna, Kraftwerk, Sigur Ros and The National. That would mean we only have one, maybe two, headliners left. Damn, was hoping for both Atoms For Peace and My Bloody Valentine for the annuncement on the 18th of April.. Sigur Ros and Volbeat COULD sub, but the last three years would beg to differ, and honestly, Volbeat SHOULD be up there with the big letters

In the danish mail they are called "hovednavn" = "headliner" , so it is pretty sure that will be.

If I remember correctly the poster realease slip normally gives 2 headliners. And 9 headliners have been seen before latest in 2009.

Volbeat, Sigur Ros and The National were all subliners the last time they played.

Volbeat has grown bigger since and since they are danish and one the most successful danish rock band internationally ever as well as one of the biggest bands in Denmark right now, they must be headliners this time.

The National have probably gotten bigger and with todays announcement I agree that RF sees them as headliners.

Sigur Ros has imo not changed status since 2006 and could/should be a subliner again.

The others mentioned are without a doubt headliners.

Last years poster release didn't give any new headliner and none was announced afterwards, but I would hope for another two headliners.

So I will hope that Sigur Ros is not a headliner, so there are room for another two headliners.

Roskilde normally slips two headliners at the big announcement but last year we only got one, just as we only got 7 headliners. Probably had something to do with Bruce Springsteen taking up most of the budget though..

We got Jack White. The rumors was just circulating before the release, which ment that a lot of danish media talked about him as an "already announced act"

Its not a hard choice to let Volbeat Sub, us Danes will be at the festival anyway but to lure the foreigners to Roskilde takes a little bit more than Volbeat I guess.

Sigur Ros isn't headlining any of the festivals I have looked at so why would they at Roskilde?

But will Atoms For Peace Headline? If they are booked, I can't remember if Them Crooked Vulture headlined but other super groups like The Racontours didn't headline.

Not this crap again.

Roskilde always have 2-3 very expensive headliners. So what if Bruce cost the same as 2 normal expensive headliners, he also filled 2 headliner slots. And was probably worth 10 times more in publicity for the festival.

Sigur Ros actually headlines lots and lots of festivals. Some of them not in Roskilde's scale, but I think they could headline Roskilde aswell. Here's an example: http://www.sfoutsidelands.com/images/admat/080912-lg.jpg

Them Crooked Vultures headlined. Raconteurs didn't, but then again you could argue that they weren't as big. The only well-known member is Jack White. Brendan Benson and The Greenhornes aren't very famous outside indie rock circle, while Them Crooked Vultures on the other hand is composed of three generations of heavy rock blue blood (Homme/Grohl/Jones).

In that case my memory is really bad, since I thought I remembered Jack White being part of the "who should headline" discussion last year, which can't be the case if they are announced at the same time as the poster, where the headliners are known. That's odd.

Edit: that explains it, that the concert already was announced by other sources than RF.

How the hell do I come off as negative?! Bruce was amazing and I was delighted when they announced him. Actually bought my ticket as soon as I saw Roskilde on his tourplans. Misinterpreting other people posts.. not this crap again..

But a similar sized festival like Coachella does not have them as headliner.

Well, Coachella also has a very different way of viewing what's a headliner and what's not. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Grinderman, New Order and Wu-Tang Clan have all headlined Roskilde. Here they are relegated to subheadliners just like Sigur Rós. And Coachella only usually has one or, sometimes two headliners per day. Roskilde typically has two per day.

The National may be the best in their genre, but it doesn´t help much when the whole genre just lacks all energy and feeling. To be fair I have to admit that I haven´t listened to them enough and that kind of music usually takes a bit to sink in, but still... Not my thing, I guess.

On the subject of headliners I think we may have 7 already and one or two coming up. Atoms for Peace for sure and Wu Tang, My Bloody Valentine or even Bowie as one more...

Well Coachellas was probably not the vest example.

But my bet is still on Volbeat subbing.

Wu Tang is in Canada during Roskilde.. But I'm also betting on Atoms For Peace or My Bloody Valentine, maybe both
