Charismatic star unites dreamlike R&B and hard-hitting rap

Audrey Nuna has spent the past few years making waves with a musical expression where dreamlike R&B, pop and hard trap meet in sharp contrast. When a creative collaborator first introduced her to Sade and A Tribe Called Quest, something clicked — a turning point that sharpened her sound and anchored the breadth she has since made her signature.

Growing up in New Jersey with Korean parents has also left its mark on her approach. She blends American R&B and rap references with elements of Korean musical traditions such as trot and K-pop, resulting in a sound that insists on holding both softness and bite. Her debut album A Liquid Breakfast (2021) delivered tracks like “damn right” and the Jack Harlow-featuring “Comic Sans”, cementing her as a name not to overlook. On the 2024 follow-up Trench, she let her distinctive aesthetic unfold even more clearly across the album’s two sections, “Soft Skin” and “Hard Feelings”, underlining that she is here to stay.

In 2025, alongside her rising solo career, Audrey Nuna achieved a major global breakthrough as the voice of Mira in the Netflix sensation KPop Demon Hunters, now the most-watched film in the platform’s history. Here she performs on the hit single “Golden”, which has topped the US, UK and South Korean charts, reached number one on the Billboard Global 200 and, at the time of writing, is up for several Grammy nominations — including Song of the Year. The success builds directly on her own musical identity, and for Audrey Nuna the project ties closely to her desire to make space for outsiders and bring more empathy into pop culture.

Audrey Nuna never opts for the safe middle ground. It’s part of what makes her concerts such striking experiences, where the emotional force of the songs fuels varied musical and visual worlds — places where the audience can let off steam and feel held in a sense of collective warmth. Look forward to experiencing Audrey Nuna’s gripping songs and magnetic charisma when she takes to the Roskilde Festival stage this summer.
