Acerbic satire and boundless musical creativity are unleashed in a lavish show when the Polish duo Vgtbl.pl takes the stage.
Sprouted in Warsaw’s DIY scene, the duo – formerly known as Franek Warzywa & Młody Budda – combine punk spirit, absurdist art and the flair of internet culture to slice freely across genres and moods. On their 2025 debut album Vegetables Worldwide!, this grows into an invigorating multi-juice in which everything from Brazilian funk, gabber, metal and smooth jazz is thrown into a musical blender. Along the way, the duo absurdly praise the quality of Polish potatoes and toss the national treasure Chopin into the mix as if it were another fresh ingredient.
Confused? That’s nothing compared to their live shows. With a theatrical flair, they let their taste for the absurd sprout into a full vegetable-fuelled spectacle that at times includes handing out Polish potatoes to the audience. Meanwhile, the crowd is served a solid dose of musical vitamins as the duo send them on a frenetic rollercoaster ride through genres.
Vgtbl.pl have achieved cult status in Poland, where their starchy, off-beat universe scratches satirically at national-conservative self-images and offers an entertaining and eclectic alternative. Their musical ingenuity has also attracted attention internationally, including from The Needle Drop, who praised the album for “some of the freakiest and funniest tracks I have heard this year.” Freaky and funny it will certainly be when the duo bring their universe to Roskilde Festival – a universe that truly deserves to be experienced live.
