- Tuesday 1 JulyReading: Aka Hansen, 11:00, Re:Act
How do you reclaim ownership of your own history? How do you make space for new voices in a narrative shaped by colonial structures?
Greenlandic filmmaker, author, and activist Aka Hansen works at the intersection of art, politics, and identity. She is a significant voice in the decolonization movement in Kalaallit Nunaat and uses both film and literature to highlight gender, queerness, and Inuit people's right to tell their own stories – on their own terms.
In November 2024, she released Manifesti – a powerful collection of poetic, political and personal texts about decolonization, resistance, and hope. Under the theme Re:Claim Your Home, Aka Hansen will read from Manifesti and invite the audience into a conversation about what home means when one's history is marked by rupture, oppression, and the struggle for self-determination.
Come and experience powerful words and important reflections – and join in rediscovering who really owns the story of Greenland.
Please note: This event will be in Danish.
Re:Act is presented by Rapolitics, Roskilde Festival, and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, with support from the Tuborg Foundation and the OpEn Fund.
