TUESDAY 1 JULY

Performance and conversation on music as a political voice

  • Tuesday 1 July
    15:00, Re:Act

Home is more than just a place – it’s a feeling, a story, and a heritage. At Re:Act, Kaka offers a unique insight into how music can be a powerful political voice. With his mix of reggae, dancehall, and afrobeat, he takes us on a journey where roots, identity, and belonging meet social engagement.

Kaka, also known as Bigg Kaka, has established himself as a prominent voice in the Danish reggae and dancehall scene with his distinctive flow and energetic stage presence. His music draws on both Danish and Tanzanian roots, with lyrics that highlight themes such as identity, integration, and community. From the hard-hitting beats of “Dansk Dancehall” to the reflective “En Sidste Sang”, Kaka creates music that both moves and engages, inviting us to reflect on our place in the world.

Come and experience how KAKA uses beats to build bridges and send powerful messages to the world, as he gives voice to the theme Re:Claim Your Home!

Please note: This event will be in Danish.

Re:Act is supported by Rapolitics, Roskilde Festival, and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, with funding from Tuborgfondet and the OpEn Fund.
