TUESDAY 1 JULY

A circus clash of transformation, gravity, and glorious loss of control

  • Tuesday 1 July
    17:00, Dancefloor

Experience MANIFEST – an insanely controlled and wildly chaotic circus performance that breaks all the rules on the colorful Dancefloor.

Five eclectic performers make their own rules in a vibrant stage collage that raises more questions than answers. To the pumping beats of Milla Lahtinen, you’ll encounter a crawling transformer, a pair of identical twins, a body questioning its own ownership, a snake, and something that looks like a flying mermaid – who decides, who adapts?

In a defiance of norms and gravity, MANIFEST merges circus and club culture into a collective softening of body, gender, and control. The performance is specially created for Roskilde Festival and shaped by the vibrant, high-energy space around Dancefloor.

On stage:

Elise Bjerkelund Reine (NO), trapeze, contortion, performer.

Mau Cugat (AR), head hanger, performer.

Milla Lahtinen (FI), hair hanger, musician, sound designer, performer.

Adalberto Fernandez Torres (PR), contortion, performer.

Julie Bergez (US/FR), contortion, dance-acrobat, performer.

Manifest is a collective creation by all the artists on stage. The performance is part of the How Far Are You Willing to Bend? project, initiated by Elise Bjerkelund Reine in collaboration with Sweden’s Östgötateatern.
