On 30 June 2025, it will be 25 years since nine men lost their lives during a concert on the Orange Stage. We mark the day of the tragedy with a screening of the documentary Nine Rocks.

Nine Rocks is a deeply personal film by Tor Nygård Kolding, who was in the crowd that night and was miraculously pulled away from the area where the tragedy occurred.

The film is not a reconstruction of the events, but a reflective journey of memory, exploring themes of guilt, loss and the search for meaning in the meaningless. Through conversations with his family, a priest, his best friend and relatives of those who died, Tor gives voice and imagery to his emotions as a survivor.

The film is a tribute to life, to music, and to the community that Roskilde Festival is built on. It is shown as part of the 25th anniversary commemoration — in respect for those we lost, and as a reminder that we, as a community, carry a shared responsibility for one another.

The film will be introduced by director Tor Nygård Kolding and concluded with a brief commemoration led by representatives from Roskilde Festival.
