Are we standing at a digital crossroads, or are we still stuck in an endless doomscroll? What comes after Meta, and how do we balance our ideals and social needs in a new digital age? When Poptillægget goes live at FLOKKR, you’re invited to take part in an honest and curious conversation about internet culture, emerging trends, and the longing for digital communities that actually feel like communities.
Lucia Odoom hosts the conversation and, together with the panel, will explore the future of online communities – and how we might take back control and build new social spaces that truly work for us.
The panel features Maia Kahlke Lorentzen, a researcher specializing in internet culture, online hate communities, and digital harassment at Cybernauterne; Sidsel Welden, author and visual artist; Sol Wendel, journalist and documentary filmmaker; and Rikke Colin, cultural commentator and critic.
Together, they will explore why more and more people are turning to ad-free, decentralized platforms like Pixelfed, Bluesky, Substack, Mastodon, and Signal. As a participant, you’re invited to share your own vision for the digital spaces of the future: What should they look like? Who should shape them – and how do we make them our own?
The event will also feature a reading by Ulrikke Bak, whose 2024 novel Love Looks Bleak draws inspiration from conversations on the online platform Reddit.
Poptillægget is Politiken’s weekly podcast magazine, diving into pop culture trends across film, TV series, music, obscure phenomena, books, podcasts, and the ever-evolving noise of the internet.
Please note: This event will be conducted in Danish.
