The Last Supper becomes a girl's dinner, when a group of ordinary women gathers at a lavish, yet chaotic, long-table dinner to support each other through their womanhood’s individual challenges.
Students from the National Film School of Denmark invite festivalgoers to The Girl Supper on the screens at Orange Stage – a short film inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. Through symbolic imagery and hidden messages, the film honours women who were overlooked in their time and denied proper recognition for their contributions.
The film explores how we, as women, understand ourselves—our bodies, our natures—through collective care and solidarity. It shows the ways we uplift each other through life’s twists and turns.
The Girl Supper is made by Ariadni Angeliki Thyfronitou Litou, Tian Ci Zhang, Gerda Falk, Mira Thu, Gertrud Elisa Sparre-Ulrich.
The National Film School of Denmark and Roskilde Festival collaborate to create space for new voices, new narratives, and new ways of understanding the role of art in society – and how art can actively engage us in shaping our shared future.
Besides attending the school, each of the members of the team has been involved in numerous film projects that have been shown at festivals around the world.
