Iranian rapper uses music to break down barriers and borders

AYIRA: Rap as a tool to make a difference, 16:00, Re:Act

Iranian Aida Karimi, also known as AYIRA, fled with her family from the unrest in Iran as a child. Since then, life has taken her far and wide - both in the world and in music.

As a rapper, she uses music to break down barriers and borders, make awareness and bring people together. She has done the same in Iran, where she has used her voice and led a movement against election fraud in the country. Come and experience AYIRA perform and talk about how music can be used as a platform to enlighten and bring about change.

Re:Act is a partnership between Rapolitics, Roskilde Festival, and the Danish Institute of Human Rights. ReAct is supported by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affair’s OpEn-funding pool and Tuborg Fondet.
