  • Tuesday 2 July
Khaled Harara: Talk on Gaza, music and creativity in crisis situations, 15:00, Re:Act

Khaled Harara has felt firsthand what it's like not to be able to move or express oneself freely. In music, however, the frustrations found an outlet. Khaled Harara was born and raised in Gaza but is now based in Sweden. Music became both a lifeline and a 'home' for him at an early age, where thoughts and frustrations could find release.

Since then, music and culture have also become a means of mutual understanding and unity across cultural barriers. Experience Khaled Harara performing a selection of his songs complemented by a conversation about his life and the way he uses rap as a political platform.

Re:Act is a partnership between Rapolitics, Roskilde Festival, and the Danish Institute of Human Rights. ReAct is supported by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affair’s OpEn-funding pool and Tuborg Fondet.
